Genex Announces 5th Annual Case Manager Scholarship Award Recipients
WAYNE, PA – June 27, 2016 – Investing in the future of workers' comp services is a priority at Genex Services, as evidenced by the company's annual Case Manager Scholarship Program. Now in its 5th year, the program has donated more than a half-million in funding to nursing and vocational academic programs across the country.
To select the best schools for its program, Genex resources the same professionals it trusts to manage the care of injured workers — its case managers, supervisors and branch managers. These employees have the unique opportunity to give back to their alma maters (or local college/university) by nominating the schools for the Case Manager Scholarship Program. The initiative is designed to assist the institutions that educate and develop future generations of case managers who will be critical to injury and disability management.
Genex selects five programs each year from the nominations and distributes a total of $100,000 in scholarship awards. The scholarships are intended to recognize the Genex graduates from these programs, strengthen the awareness of the case management profession, and invest in a new generation of future graduates to fill a growing industry need.
The colleges and universities receiving scholarship awards for 2016 and the Genex employees who nominated them are:
- Bellarmine University, Louisville, KY, nominated by Regina Calhoun, field case manager for the Louisville branch
- University of San Diego, nominated by Ariella Darlington, field case manager for the Orange, CA, branch
- University of Oklahoma College of Nursing, Oklahoma City, nominated by Stephanie Rider, field and telephonic case manager for the Oklahoma City branch
- Virginia Commonwealth University, Richmond, nominated by Jennifer Jurlando, vocational case manager for the Glen Allen, VA branch
- University of Tennessee at Martin, nominated by Susie Moore, a field case manager for the Memphis office.
Each institution will receive scholarship funding to be used in support of the educational endeavors of their student populations.
