Case management prize is one of industry's highest honors
WAYNE, PA – May 18, 2016 – Genex case manager Patricia McFall, RN, CCM, has been recognized as one of her profession's finest after recently winning the Case in Point Platinum Award for Social Services and Disability Management.
The Case In Point Platinum Awards Program is designed to recognize leaders in case management who are improving the delivery of care in the areas they serve. Processes such as transition of care, disease management, behavioral health and other creative strategies are making a difference as the industry works to improve quality of care, while at the same time lowering healthcare costs, officials said. McFall, a case manager at Genex Services' Georgia branch, won for her work with a 23-year-old male who sustained a significant workplace injury when a ladder he was positioning hit an electrical line sending 19,600 volts through his body. The accident resulted in multiple life-threatening burns and injuries, including an anoxic brain injury which affected swallowing, memory and other cognitive functions. McFall's diligence in managing the case with the injured worker, his family and vocational team helped the young man attain the skills necessary to reach his highest functional potential and return to independent living.
Tim Howard, senior vice president of field case management, said McFall represents the outstanding work performed by Genex's 1,700 case managers across the country who help thousands of injured workers return to their jobs or a higher level of independence each year.
